Simple trial rules
Wind and gusts carry half the rating, total waves about a third, with air temperature and rain making up the rest. Sea temperature and shoreline direction are extra context, not catch predictions. Offshore wind is never treated as a safety advantage.
Raking uses lower wave thresholds than Jetty or Boat. The labels are provisional comfort preferences: Good, Mixed or Poor. A higher-risk wind, gust or wave reading keeps the whole window Poor.

Wind: 50%; waves: 30%; air: 10%; rain: 10%. Wind scores decline from 5 to 18 knots for Raking, or 5 to 20 for Jetty/Boat. Gusts decline from 10 to 23 knots for Raking, or 10 to 25 for Jetty/Boat. The lower wind/gust score is used.
Wave scores decline from 0.1 to 0.5 m for Raking, 0.2 to 1.2 m for Jetty, and 0.2 to 0.8 m for Boat. Air scores are highest at 18–26°C, falling to zero at 8°C/36°C. Rain declines from full credit at zero to none at 2 mm/hour.
The weighted hourly score is averaged across three consecutive future daylight hours. The window must finish before sunset. Reaching the upper wind, gust or wave threshold caps the entire window at 1/5. Good is ≥3.5/5, Mixed is ≥2/5, and Poor is below 2/5. Missing required inputs mean no rating.
